In 1999, a group of Harford Community College students, enrolled in a creative writing course, decided to keep meeting after the semester ended. Afterward, children and staff channeled their inner Bob Mackie and Edith Head and designed costumes for Lou Caribou, one of the book’s main characters, per the activity sheet I created for the story (which you can access here!). Some of the fabulous frocks appear here.
Many thanks go out to director Janelle Schmidt, the kind teachers, and the wonderful children at GSCC!
